  • CHECK OVERHEATING
  • CHECKED FOR HEADGASKETS AND THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THE HEAD GASKETS WERE BAD. REMOVED THE HOSES ON THE FIREWALL RIGHT AT THE HEATER CORE TO SEE IF IT WAS FLOWING AS IT SHOULD. NO FLOW OUT OF THE HOSES SO IT LOOKED LIKE IT WOULD BE THE WATER PUMP. REMOVED THE PUMP AND FOUND THE IMPELLER ON THE WATER PUMP TO BE SPINNING AS IT SHOULD AND SINCE THE FINS ON THE PUMP ARE METAL THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THE FINS. REMOVED THE RADIATOR AND FLOW TESTED IT AND THE RADIATOR WAS FLOWING AS IT SHOULD. REMOVED THE THERMOSTAT. PUT IT IN HOT WATER AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE THERMOSTAT SHOULD OPEN ALL THE WAY BUT IT WAS ONLY OPENING PARTIALLY. REPLACED WITH A NEW UNIT BUT IT CONTINUED TO OVERHEAT. ONCE THE HEADGASKETS WERE REMOVED WE FOUND ONE OF THE GASKETS TO HAVE A PARTIAL TEAR IN IT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT.
  • RE-SURFACE HEADS
